Botanical Name: Tsuga canadensis
A member of the Pine family and also commonly called 'Hemlock' this variety of Spruce tree is a native species to the west coast of the USA and can mature to reach 50 meters in height.
About the Oil
This essential oil is steam distilled from the needles and twigs of wild grown Canadian Spruce trees.Aromatherapy Notes
This Spruce oil has a bright citrus and floral top note, a distinctly green and resinous pine menthol and eucalyptus middle note with undertones that are slightly balsamic and deeply wooded. It serves as an excellent oil for use in yoga and meditative practice.Spruce oil blends well with: Pine, Cedarwood, Lavender and Rosemary oil.
Traditional Uses
Spruce essential oil has been used as a topical application for muscular aches and pains, poor circulation and rheumatism and to improve breathing conditions of asthma, bronchitis, coughs and general respiratory weakness.Therapeutic Properties Described In The Aromatherapy Literature

Application and Use
Topical:
- For adrenal support, use with Pine at a 10% dilution in hazelnut oil and apply to the kidney region.
- Dilute to less than 10% in a carrier oil and massage into sore muscles and joints.
Inhalation:
- Diffuse in small amounts to lift the energy of a space or for respiratory and immune system benefits.
