This is true Ravensara essential oil, steam distilled from certified organically grown ravensara leaves originating in Madagascar.

Ravensara oil is a strong antiviral oil which can be used to treat flu and is also an excellent nerve tonic. Ravensara is an all around great aromatherapeutic essential oil. The aroma is light, and not dissimilar to Eucalyptus Radiata.

It may be used in treatment of respiratory conditions - Ravensara oil is said to work effectively against acute cases of the flu, both through its anti-viral effects and its uplifting of mood and energy levels. Dr. Kurt Schnaubelt in Advanced Aromatherapy states: 'For the treatment of acute flu, ravensara is best taken internally (1 drop every 2 hours for acute flu) and/or applied externally'. For associated breathing conditions, and other chronic respiratory discharge associated with viral infection, add a few drops of Ravensara to a steaming bowl of water and inhale deeply.

Ravensara is recommended in almost every aromatherapy text for Herpes Zoster, i.e. 'Shingles' - in a blend with Tamanu oil. Mix in a 50/50 ratio and apply regularly to the outbreak - terrific results are noted with this combination. Please email us for the availability of Tamanu nut oil.
