Botanical Name: Melaleuca quinquenervia
Also known as 'Gomenol', Niaouli is an evergreen tree native to Australia, similar in appearance and aroma to Eucalyptus.
Niaouli may be used in place of Tea Tree oil when the smell of Tea Tree is found objectionable due to its somewhat medicinal aroma. The medicinal and aromatic properties of the two are considered similar, yet Niaouli has a sweeter, less harsh scent and thus is employed more commonly for respiratory conditions.

Dermatological:
- Treats acne
- Treats burns, wounds, sores and insect bites
- Balances oily skin
Psychological:
- Stimulating and uplifting
- Clears circular or stagnant thought patterns
- Enhances concentration
Respiratory System:
- Treats pulmonary infections such as bronchitis and sinusitis
- Counteracts asthma
- Treats sore throats and cases of whooping cough
Genito-Urinary System:
- Treats urinary infections and Cystitis
Inhalation:
- To treat respiratory infections, blend a few drops with Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Pine, Myrtle, and Ravensara. Add a few drops to a bowl of hot water and inhale deeply for several minutes.
Topical:
- Apply to acne with a tissue or cotton swab 2-3 times a day.
- To stimulate the immune system and deal with allergic reactions, try putting 5-20 drops of oil directly to the skin after a shower.
