Botanical Name: Lavendula angustifolia var. Vera
Of the many Lavender essential oil varieties, it is typically the French Lavenders from mountainous regions that are held in the highest regard. The climate is perfect, and the higher altitude lends to lower distillation temperatures.

And this Lavender is about perfect both aromatically and therapeutically. This organic Lavender Vera, also called 'True' and 'Fine' Lavender is, like our other lavender essential oils, a variety of Lavendula angustifolia.
Aromatherapy Notes
Much of the therapeutic calming action of Lavender essential oil is attributed to its high Linalool levels. Lavender Vera tends to have the highest Linalool content of all varieties (they are still all of the Lavendula angustifolia species). Linalool is considered the 'sweet' component of Lavender's aroma. There are numerous scientific studies (abstracts available on www.pubmed.gov) investigating the stress-reducing effects of Linalool.A recent Japanese study has even noted changes in expression of over 100 genes related to stress response that are affected by the inhalation of Linalool. It has also been the subject of an interesting anti-cancer study.

Application and Use
Inhalation:
- Add desired quantity (a few ml) of oil into diffuser
- Apply to skin or to a tissue and inhale
Topical:
- Use as a perfume or as you would a deodorant.
- Effective on burns, insect bites and small cuts.
Ingestion:
- A few drops in water 15 minutes before a meal can significantly reduce appetite.
Safety
