Synergy Essentials ® Graceful Goddess™ formulas were designed by holistic health professionals to offer a simple means of utilizing natural medicines which may be profoundly supportive of breast health.* Graceful Goddess includes extracts of Frankincense (Boswellia Seratta and Carteri species), Lemongrass, Bay Laurel and Rose Otto, plus Calcium D-glucarate and Di-indolymethane (DIM), in a base of natural, organic, skin-friendly plant oils. We've made available a 20% strength in a 1 oz cream, a 10% strength in a 4 oz cream, and a full-strength extract blend to use "neat" (undiluted) or, depending on your skin's sensitivity, to dilute in your own body care product. All formulas include:
Frankincense
Scientific research shows steam distilled and supercritical carbon dioxide (SCO2) extracts of many plants to be highly potent anti-cancer agents. Frankincense resin has a multi-millennial history in natural healing. It has recently been the subject of numerous scientific inquiries into its ability to lead to natural cell death (apoptosis) of cancerous cells, while leaving healthy cells unaffected. (See the "Additional Information" tab for a review of the published research on this and other ingredients).
A search of Pubmed.gov (the National Institute of Health's online biomedical research database) for the term "frankincense and cancer" retrieves several pages of peer-reviewed studies on the subject. Many of these describe the ability of frankincense and its fractions to destroy cancer cells, and detail the potential biochemical pathways for this action. Through the SCO2 extraction technique, the typically solid resin is available in a highly potent and readily absorbed oil form. Pure Frankincense supercritical extract is also available, though some find it mildly irritating to the skin at 100% strength. It can be diluted in any carrier oil, which will improve absorption and sooth the skin at the same time.
Lemongrass
The steam distilled essential oil of Lemongrass is another promising natural anticancer agent which is easily absorbed through the skin into underlying tissues. Researchers producing a study, titled "The Anticancer Activity of an Essential Oil of Cymbopogon Flexus (Lemongrass)" state in the abstract "results indicate that the oil has a promising anticancer activity and causes loss in tumor cell viability by activating the apoptotic process."
Bay Laurel
The steam distilled extract of Bay Laurel is considered by leading natural medicine professionals to be highly effective at stimulating flow in a stagnant lymph system. Its action has been noted as to be so effective on swollen lymph nodes that "even the most hardened skeptic will be convinced after one application" (Schnaubelt, Advanced Aromatherapy, pp 74-75). Bay Laurel is also available as an individual essential oil, which may be highly supportive at reducing symptoms of swollen lymph nodes. Bay Laurel has been combined with Frankincense and Lemongrass in order to assist the movement of toxins out of the lymph nodes within breast tissue. One can imagine that the combination of flushing these nodules, with potentially potent anticancer activity may have a very positive result.
Rose and Jasmine
Rose Otto, the extract of Rosa damacena flowers, is noted by Battaglia in The Complete Guide to Aromatherapy as having an "astonishing effect on the female sexual organs as a purifying and regulating agent". It has been measured to have the highest natural frequency of any essential oil ~ meaning it has the "highest vibe", and is a superior tonic of the heart and emotions. Its aroma is widely appreciated, and is generally thought to be the most effective tonic for a woman's psycho-emotional condition. Jasmine, too, is mentioned as "one of the most effective essential oils for nervous anxiety, restlessness and depression". Rose and Jasmine have been added not only for their potential biochemical action, but as an aid to support a positive self image of beauty and health.
Calcium D-Glucarate and Diindolymethane
Calcium D-glucarate and Diindolymethane are nutrients found in cruciferous vegetables, known for their ability to detoxify the body of xenoestrogens and blocking the formation of excess hormones. Research has shown diindolymethane to actually inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells. These are both readily soluble in oils, and together with theses above plant extracts can be absorbed through the skin on site with a natural carrier oil base.
