Quick Overview

This Synergy Essentials 100% pure Blue Gum Eucalyptus essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves of Eucalyptus Globulus trees grown in Corsica. Many Eucalyptus globulus oils are rectified or re-distilled for manufacturing. This is Corsian oil is in its natural, most therapeutic state, having a bright, fresh, full-bodied aroma.

Botanical Name: Eucalyptus globulus

A majestic evergreen tree that grows up to 90 meters tall, the 'Blue Gum' Eucalyptus is native to Australia, and particularly Tasmania and is the most well known of the Eucalyptus varieties. When the term 'Eucalyptus oil' is used without mention of a species, this is usually the one. Of the 500 types of Eucalyptus tree species that yield an essential oil, Eucalyptus globulus is the most common for medicinal purposes due to its high cineol (or eucalyptol) content.

About the Oil
This oil is light weight, clear, and slightly blue-tinted. It is steam-distilled from the leaves of organically cultivated Corsican Eucalyptus trees.
Aromatherapy Notes
This Blue Gum Eucalyptus exhibits a distinctly green, menthol top note, a camphoraceous middle note and a deeply woody and slightly sweet undertone.

This oil blends well with Thyme, Rosemary, Lavender, Marjoram, Pine Cedarwood and Lemon.

We also have the slightly sweeter, citrus-like Eucalyptus radiata (Narrow Leaf) variety available.

Traditional Uses
A common household remedy in Australia, the primary use of Eucalyptus essential oil is to support respiration by clearing any blockages or congestion.

It has also been used to treat infectious conditions accompanied by fever, including cholera, malaria, and typhoid.

For further information, please see Eucalyptus Radiata.
