Cinnamon Oil, Bark
Sizes:
Quantity:
Cinnamon BarkCinnamon oil is distilled from the bark of the tropical evergreen tree Cinnamomum ceylanicum native to Sri Lanka. The tree can grow as tall as 50 feet, having a very thick bark and leathery leaves. It is from the bark that cinnamon spice also originates. The oil is a yellow liquid with a lovely sweet, warm-spicy aroma. It is noted as 'An oil of warmth and happiness'.

Cinnamon oil has traditionally been used for fast relief of infections of the bladder and the digestive tract, as well as enzymatic deficiency in the gut. Cinnamon essential oil is highly anti-microbial and anti-bacterial for a great diversity of infectious bacteria. Studies have shown the strength of Cinnamon Bark oil to eliminate many forms of pathogenic organisms. Cinnamon oil has an extremely high antioxidant capacity, second only to clove oil. Some do take very small amounts internally for this and it's anti-microbial effects.

The oil is extremely potent, and should not be inhaled directly from a diffuser, as may irritate the nasal membranes - otherwise, diffuser use is acceptable. Cinnamon oil blends well with Frankincense, Lemon, Orange, Mandarin, Rosemary, Lavender and all spice essential oils. The oil may also be beneficial for imporving circulation and supporting the immune system through viral and bacterial infections. The wonderfully rich aroma of Cinnamon Oil is also used as a sexual stimulant, though it should not be used externally on sensitive skin (except in highly dilute concentrations - and then never on sensitive areas); due to its powerful nature a diffuser would be best to experience this effect. Otherwise, dilute cinnamon oil 1:50 in a carrier oil before application.

The fragrance of the oil is thought to be warming to the mind and spirit, raising alertness. It can encourage positive emotions of benevolence and courage, while dispelling negative emotions of fear. Perhaps for these reasons, the spice was highly valued in Biblical times, being included in holy annointing oil blends. Additionally, the aroma is though to attract abundance (use with creative visualiation is suggested) and enhance psychic awareness.
