Botanical Name: Thymus zygus, oils of 4 pure selected strains
Thyme essential oils -- and there are many strains -- have always been considered among the most potent antimicrobial oils available. Gentler than Oregano, and now perhaps even more important. "Benchmark" Thyme is a pure blend of 4 thymus zygus strains balanced in a way to chemically act like Thyme and Tea Tree together -- yet they claim it still to be one of the more "gentle" strains. (We also carry Thyme c.t. linalool, which is the only thyme oil recommended for use with children, but diluted properly, this oil should be able to be used as well.
About the Oil
This essential oil is extracted by steam distillation from the fresh leaves and flowering tops of English ethically-grown Thyme plants .
Aromatherapy Notes
Thyme generally has a fairly potent herbal aroma -- this one a little stronger than the slightly more floral linalooll.
